Peters Mountain Chapter Daughters
of the American Revolution

Special Interests

Peters Mountain Chapter is very proud of its work with and for Tamassee DAR School located in Tamassee, South Carolina.  Tamassee is a DAR supported boarding school for  children who, for many varied reasons cannot live at home with their families.

Our chapter makes regular monetary donations to the school's summer program and to their fall "grits and gravy" campaigns.  We also contribute to the West Virginia State Society's annual shoe fund drive.  Additionally, we have several members who belong to Tamassee's Sunshine Club and promise monthly contributions to Tamassee's general fund.

At each monthly meeting our chapter has a "sock shower" for the school where we ask members to bring socks of any size, shape, or color for the children of the school.

Additionally, we regularly send good used clothing, household items, toys, games and other miscellaneous items to the Tamassee Thrift Shop.  Tamassee uses the money generated through their thrift shop to supplement their general fund.

Anyone interested in learning more about Tamassee DAR School can contact any of the members of  the Peters Mountain Chapter or contact Tamassee DAR School directly at www.tdarschool.org or by e-mail at [email protected].
